A Salute to Local Good Samaritans
As we move into a season of giving, get to know an organization devoted to our local community, the Lazarus House Ministries. Since opening its doors as an emergency homeless shelter in 1983, this incredible organization has been breaking the cycle of poverty in the Merrimack Valley.
At Riverwalk’s upcoming Tenant Fest, we will be donating turkeys for every person who attends the event and we will also be collecting canned goods. Food programs, like this one, combine with Lazarus House Ministries’ clothing drives assist local families in need by stretching their dollars so they can afford rent, heat and utilities. Plus, they have housing initiatives that provide a safe haven for homeless families and individuals.
The Lazarus House Ministries has also developed an extensive learning environment that provides ESOL, work prep classes and training to help guests become self-reliant and take the first step toward a successful, independent future.
We are thankful to be part of such a special group of men and women making a positive difference in the lives of those around them. If you’d like to learn more or donate to the Lazarus HouseMinistries, click here to explore their site and discover volunteer opportunities.
